"Why isn’t it required by law that children get vaccinated?"
Because, in general, we acknowledge the sanctity of a person’s bodily autonomy over the desires of the general populace. This isn’t necessarily true in cases of imminent danger (i.e. we will forcibly restrain and confine a person who is a known and immediate danger to the lives of others), but not getting vaccinated doesn’t place other people in immediate jeopardy.
Wrong. Dont make a mistake and assume that people only get vaccinated ‘because they want to’. No. Not only are you vaccinated to protect your health and your children’s health, but you are also vaccinated to protect the health of anyone and everyone who cannot be vaccinated. Anyone immunocompromised, anyone with an allergy to the vaccine. Not being vaccinated means you can literally kill these people just out of your own ignorance. You are an asshole if you refuse vaccination.
Remember, you don’t just get vaccinated for your own good health, but for the good health of everyone around you.
